WHY WE PRINT

  • Lost Art

You used to pay for a session fee for photography and then go back to the professionals to get all your prints and framing done. Today digital files are so readily available and photographers just give everything away most people have been trained to just get it printed at the most convenient and cheap place. Resulting in really poor quality prints and framing that do not show the depth and detail the way the photographer might have meant. The quality of peoples prints have gone down drastically. We are wanting to bring back the craftsmanship and the intense obsession over each detail of the photo process back. We believe we print what is valuable, and what is printed becomes valuable, so we want to bring back the art of printing.

  • Front lit

Most photos today are viewed on a screen that is back lit. In order to see the image well it needs to be darkened to accommodate that. The way a photo is edited is actually different depending on how it’s intended to be viewed. Prints and albums are all front lit which means you need a brighter edit in order to showcase the print properly.

  • Black and White Control

As strange as it sounds, black and whites can have a green, purple and even orange tinge to them. Often not too noticeable unless you have a few side by side. To get a really nice black and white with deep blacks and bright whtites without looseing all data is incredibly difficult. Printing off 5 different printers will have very different results. We maticulusly edit each print in order that it will print beautifully on the settings we have for the printer.
